From Toxic to Fun: How to Have a Great Time With Your Kids and Alone as a Single Mom After Leaving Unhealthy Relationships

As a single mom, it’s important to make time for fun and enjoyment, both with your kids and alone. But how do you have fun when you’re juggling so many responsibilities and possibly still healing from past trauma? Here are some tips to keep in mind:

1. Make time for yourself: It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life as a single mom, but it’s important to make time for yourself. Whether it’s taking a bubble bath, going for a hike, or reading a good book, make sure you carve out time to do things that bring you joy.

2. Have fun with your kids: Spending quality time with your kids can be a great source of joy and fun. Get creative and think of activities that everyone will enjoy, whether it’s cooking something fun together, going to the park, having a picnic, or having a movie marathon at home.

3. Surround yourself with positivity, and cut out toxic people: Your environment and the people you surround yourself with can have a big impact on your mood and overall well-being. Seek out positive and supportive friends and family and try to limit your time with negative influences.

4. Try new things: Trying new things can be a great way to have fun and break out of your routine. Whether it’s trying a new hobby or going on a spontaneous road trip, stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to new and exciting experiences. I took up painting by numbers, and it’s now one of my favorite hobbies!

5. Let go of perfection: As a single mom, it can be easy to put pressure on yourself to be perfect. But perfection is unattainable, and striving for it can take the fun out of life. Try to let go of perfection and focus on enjoying the present moment. You and your kids will be much happier for it.

By making time for yourself, having fun with your kids, surrounding yourself with positivity, trying new things, and letting go of perfection, you can have fun as a single mom after leaving toxic relationships. Remember, it’s important to prioritize your own happiness and well-being, as well as the happiness of your children. You deserve to have fun and enjoy your life!

The discomfort you feel is the energy of expansion. Let it collapse. Walk forward like it’s unfolding — because it is. Don’t flinch. Stay in agreement with what you asked for.
